As we are faced with the profound global consequences of climate change, colonialism and capitalism, it’s crucial that we stay connected and support each other.

CJU recognise the importance of our having supportive spaces to reflect and share. Sometimes simply listening to others and being heard yourself can be healing and restorative. Given this CJU are facilitating monthly online reflection sessions for people to come together, yarn and be heard in an understanding and caring environment.

These sessions will be facilitated by the skilled expertise of Linda Selvey and Jaime Yallup Farrant, who together share a wealth of experience in holding space for people to navigate complex feelings.

We intend for these sessions to provide you an opportunity to listen, reflect and if you feel comfortable, to share from your own experience. We hope you will join us in putting collective care into practice.

It’s important to note that these sessions are not intended to replace any professional or personal support you may need or already have in place. Rather they are designed to complement existing resources and serve as an additional means of connection. We encourage participants to continue seeking guidance from mental health professionals, friends, family and other support networks as needed.

By attending this event you are agreeing to uphold CJUs guiding principles and acknowledge that facilitators reserve the right to remove anyone who may compromise the safety of other attendees.

We acknowledge that we begin our work as The Climate Justice Union on the Boodja (land) of the Wadjuk people of the Noongar Nation. We honour the Wadjuk people and their kin in other Nations and Country across these lands and waters, who have always cared for this place and all who lived here.

We acknowledge First Nations Elders past and present, and acknowledge that those of us living here, who came from across the seas, live on land that was taken, stolen. We acknowledge the responsibility that comes with this understanding and that we personally and collectively benefit from this theft.

As such, we all have a responsibility to decolonise ourselves, our lives and work, and to heal the harm these oppressive systems have inflicted.
